Dr. László Halla, economics engineer, was born in Budapest. At first, he rented the wine cellar, then bought it from the local farming cooperative. He has been involved in a number of initiatives in the Somló region: he is a founding member of the Somló Region Wine Route Association, participated in the construction of Somló Hotel and in the creation of the Somló Hill Foundation in 1992.
He first became interested in wine-growing through the works of Sándor Márai, and later he has been impressed by the novels of Béla Hamvas as well. Currently, he has a half-hectare vineyard on the Doba side of the hill. The estate surrounding his wine cellar offers a wide range of recreational activities. The wine cellar and the guest house provide a stunning view and a beautiful environment with playground for children (swings, sandbox), pool (from spring to fall), Hungarian barbecue and sports facilities (foot tennis, five-a-side football, volley-ball, badminton).
The guest house with 3 sunflowers according to rural tourism rating system participates in the program of rural and agro-tourism. 4+1 rooms (with optional spare bed) with bathroom. Three cup rated traditional wine cellar with an event room for up to 40 people. The cellar housing oak barrels and the tasting hall provide wine tasting of Welschriesling of Somló. The cellar also serves as a bottling room, thus bottled wines are also available for tasting and purchase.

“Wine is a man thing: one must talk about it softly… When I get old, I want to have my own wine cellar…” (Sándor Márai)
